In the fight for who is better among the democrats and the republicans it seems America has overlooked the real political party…
The Angry White Man!

Gary Hubbell of the Aspen Times has written an article explaining the overlooked party and just what they stand for.
I don’t want to get into any political debates here… just thought it was an interesting, and very funny article, and you may even be a part of this party and never knew it.

Okay… I’m squeezing this post in just before midnight. I’ve gone all day thinking, “I don’t have anything to post about today.” But here at the last few minutes of the day I’ve come up with something.
As you know… my wife runs the blog over at First Impressions and does a very good job of it, might I add. She’s put everything she has into her blog for the past 3-4 months and it shows. She’s got quite a following.
But… she is splitting off and is now going to put some of her energy into a second blog… a more personal blog. Check it out here: www.bosssanders.com.
Yes, you read it right. It says Boss Sanders. For some reason she thinks she’s the boss around here, and instead of busting her bubble, I continue to let her think she wears the pants in the family. (Did I just say that out loud?) I mean… she is the boss… yeah… I love you hunny!
Anyway, check her out. I know she’ll go just as far with this as she has with First Impressions.

I see fire and I see rain. That’s what I was singing today when I got home from work. What does this have to do with anything you ask?
Today was the day I told the wife I’d cook some steaks on the grill. Today was also the day it happened to be raining. Not just your ordinary rain, but I swear it could easily have been mistaken for a monsoon. I fired up the grill anyways, backed it up to the edge of the garage, and stood just inside the garage door as I cooked some of the best tasting steaks I’ve had in a long time.
What does this have to do with my life as a dad? Well, nothing really, and I guess the fire and rain part is covered with this story, but the fire I’m talking about has nothing to do with grilling steaks in the rain. My fire has to do with the fire starter I used to start the grill.
I stood in front of my 10 month old baby girl, and clicked the fire starter. She followed the flame with her eyes, amazed at what she saw. Then I took a breath and blew it out. I did it a few times while she watched. Then I lit the starter one more time and held it as close to being in front of her as I could where she couldn’t reach out and grab it. Then the most amazing thing happened…
She took a breath and blew at the flame. It wasn’t a strong enough breath to blow it out, so I let the flame go out to make her think she did it herself.
She laughed.
Kids are amazing, and Baby L is absolutely the smartest baby alive.

Tasting new things is alway fun… but is it always safe? Sure why not
Today ended up being a beautiful day. The sun was shining, and the temperature around 65 or 70 degrees, which is awesome for this time of year!
The wife and I took Baby L to visit my parents. We were only at their house for an hour or so before we decided to all go up the road to the lake.
We put Baby L on the swings, which she loves. Then we put her on the grass for her first time. She was actually kind of scared at first, and hated the way the grass felt on her feet. She constantly tried to pull her feet off of the ground. So… how much more fun could it get? Ha. Ha. Never say that…. ever!
Lorelei is into tasting everything she touches… even if it’s leaves! “Let her taste it,” says my mom. “She’ll realize it tastes bad and put it down.” Ha. Ha. Never say that either!
Baby L loved the taste of the crunchy leaf, and decided it was okay to go ahead and eat it. What a great snack. And it’s free.
Okay… it might have tasted great, but no one else ever try this at home… she got a piece in her mouth and after trying to swallow it many many times, only to choke each and every time… she finally threw up everywhere.
My diagnosis of the situation? Don’t feed your baby leaves, no matter how good they think they are.
Took a trip today with the wife and Baby L to see the inlaws. We spent all day with them, and later in the evening, we all went to Pizza by the Pound for some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten.
But before we get to talking about the Pizza by the Pound experience, let me prep you by saying Baby L usually eats food, cooked and pureed by the wife. No pre-packaged baby food with tons of extra sugars. Well… we fed her two giant jars of the sugar packed baby food, which definitely made for an interesting night. LOL.
Now… we leave for Pizza by the Pound (ends up being 7 of us and Baby L). The booth we all sit at is only made to hold 4 people, but we all cram ourselves into it, because no other tables are open. I now know what sardines feel like.
Eventually a group leaves and we get to move to another booth, but this only allows for the usual 5 people, so yes…. we are still packed in like rats. And to top everything off… Baby L’s visit with the sugar monster has left her so hyper, we can’t hold her still for the whole hour and a half that we are at the restaurant. What a crazy night. Good food, but definitely glad it’s over.
If I’ve learned one thing from this little experience. Never feed Baby L the pre-packaged sugar laden baby food ever again.

I often wonder how I ever made it this far in life. So young, yet so still a parent. I guess I’ve always been the one to look for marriage, even in the tiniest of possiblities, so it was no coincidence that I met Ashley (aka MILF). She too was eager to get married and start a family.
Ashley and I were only together for a couple of months before we became engaged. Marrying almost a year later. I don’t regret a bit of it, and especially so when she gave me a baby girl last year. Her name is Lorelei (aka Baby L), and I love her more than anything in the world.
Baby L is about 10 months old now, and it amazes me to look back at old pictures I have of her, and see how much she has changed. It’s almost unreal that she’ll be one year old so soon. She crawls around non-stop, going about 90 mph, and even stands on her own. Sometimes watching her is tough, because I could turn my head for only a second and by the time I look back, she is already half-way across the room and getting into something. It’s amazing what kind of Dad Speed you soon aquire that you never thought you had. I find myself being able to already know what she is doing even if I can’t see her. That sixth sense kids always wonder if their parents have… it’s true.
Baby L also has a thing now for growling. She’ll chase the cat and dog around the house, growling at them, and alot of times, she’ll even growl at us. She’s like a miniature lion… only not.
I have fun with her, and I know I always will. She the greatest thing that has ever happend to me, (besides you Ashley - if you’re reading this
and I could never imagine what my life would be like without her in it.
Well… Like the title to this post says, I’ve managed to hold out only so long. How long has blogging been around? Too long in my opinion, but after many many years of blogging prejudice, I’ve finally broken down and decided to start my own personal blog.
What made me give in? My family of course! My wife sits on her computer for hours upon hours each and everyday blogging. It seems it’s become an addiction to her just as much as cigarettes are the the next guy.
What better way to get her to pay attention to me :).
My daughter… the absolute best thing in this world, is another reason I’ve decided to start blogging. I’ve never really had much to write about until she came into my life. Now, I’m sure I will never have a problem with writer’s block.
So once again… I’ve given in, and this is only the beginning of a life-long journey. It’ll be a bumpy ride, like anything else, but I hope you’ll stay for it.
