Tasting New Things

Tasting new things is alway fun… but is it always safe?  Sure why  not :)

Today ended up being a beautiful day.  The sun was shining, and the temperature around 65 or 70 degrees, which is awesome for this time of year!

The wife and I took Baby L to visit my parents.  We were only at their house for an hour or so before we decided to all go up the road to the lake.

We put Baby L on the swings, which she loves.  Then we put her on the grass for her first time.  She was actually kind of scared at first, and hated the way the grass felt on her feet.  She constantly tried to pull her feet off of the ground.  So… how much more fun could it get?  Ha. Ha.  Never say that…. ever!

Lorelei is into tasting everything she touches… even if it’s leaves!  “Let her taste it,” says my mom.  “She’ll realize it tastes bad and put it down.”  Ha. Ha.  Never say that either!

Baby L loved the taste of the crunchy leaf, and decided it was okay to go ahead and eat it.  What a great snack.  And it’s free. :)

Okay… it might have tasted great, but no one else ever try this at home… she got a piece in her mouth and after trying to swallow it many many times, only to choke each and every time… she finally threw up everywhere.

My diagnosis of the situation?  Don’t feed your baby leaves, no matter how good they think they are.

Eh…she didn’t throw up EVERYWHERE. EVERYWHERE is when anyone within 10 feet of her needs their clothes changed, too. Oh, no…this was just a little. But, I do second the whole “Don’t give baby’s leaves”…Who’d have thunk? :)

Who would have thought that L would like the taste of leaves. Silly girl! And I did try to get it out her mouth but she kept biting me. She didn’t want me to take her “leaf”. At least she didn’t want to taste the goats. And she definitely didn’t care for being “tasted” by the goats. :-)

Hi Steven! Good to see another Dad joining in on the blogging fun! The leaves look tasty! My son would probaby love them. He eats everything from dogfood to bark. I can’t wait for it to get warmer so he can go outside and play for the first time. :D

BTW: Thanks for visiting and commenting on my site…and for the link! I added a link to your site on my links page.

Leaves aren’t bad….she could have eaten a crunchy bug like her Uncle Josh did when he was her age. GROSS!!!
